Unless they asked you to respond to some sort of advertisement, probably
not.
More likely, they received a virus or spam with your address as the From
address and were too uninformed to realize that it really was not from
you. There are lots of naive users out there that do odd things. There's
also stupid software out there too. I've received serveral automated
bounce messages claiming I sent e-mail containing Klez. What really
happened is some poor WinXX user got Klez and had my name if their address
book.
