If you don't lose something precious in the process, it isn't drastic if it
solves the problem you are in, now. At worst, you will be back where you were
before you started trying to get rid of the extra printer objects. FWIW, I
occasionally blow my C: partition and restore from my recent backup (which is
on hard disk, not tape). It is a relatively painless procedure and doesn't
take much time.
