You lost all the customizations and applications you installed since you
installed Warp4.

No, it's easy. Most folks have no problems with it. You just need to
understand how and when to backup, so that if problems occur you are not
dead in the water. This applies not only to installing new applications,
but also everyday use of the system. If you don't make proper backups the
day will come when you lose everything. It could be a hardware failure.
It could be as simple as the electrical company turning off your power at
just the right time. It could even be a finger-fault by the keyboard
operator.
