MCP2 is not a FP, it's more like a version upgrade, so everything gets
updated.

Hard to say for sure without check build levels and dates. It appears
that not every fix got into MCP2, but I'm not clear on the specifics.

Well, if it's really a FP type of install, all of the usual safeguards are
in place. If, as I suspect, the install is you copy the files into place,
you are the safeguards.
