If you really want something lighter weight than tedit, there's:  
 
TED2.ZIP       12K  5-16-92  A very small text editor for OS/2 that does  
not  
                             require the Presentation Manager. Less than  
4KB  
                             executable size!  
 
Works just like the DOS version with the same name.
