Hi Butch
I really wonder: Why do you delete a running version to reinstall a
newer version =

and got into troubles ???

I am not running Firebird but with stuff under development I would
never delete =

something running before I am sure the successor version does better
than the =

precious one !

In your case of Firebird I would handle like following i.e:

E:\Demos\OS2\Firebird\06 contains the previous version and the newer
goes into:
E:\Demos\OS2\Firebird\061 !

Without touching version 0.6 I would experiment with version 0.61 !!

Feeling secure that the newer version runs better than the previous or
secure =

I would transfer (copy NOT move) my data into newer environment !

The old 0.6 version remains untouched ;-)

Later with i.e. version 0.62 I would repeat my procedure as described
again !
If I notice that the newest version is running properly THEN I do
delete =

the eldest i.e. here 0.6 version !

Like this I am having always a proper running version ;-))
Like this I am always having a chance for a worling roll-back ;-))
Like this I am not trapped with having the previous version deleted =

and the newest one not working ;-((

Take care and good luck
svobi

Subject:	SCOUG-Help: Firebird .6.1 problem

I am wondering if I am the only person having this problem with
MozillaFirebird .6.1.

I have had Firebird .6.0 installed and running well since it's release. =

This morning I was talking to an os/2 user in an irc chat and he was
having problems with the MozillaFirebird.exe working with a recent
download of MozillaFirebird .6.1. In an attempt to see what was
happening, I deleted my Firebird and downloaded the newer version,
unzipped to a directory and tried to run the MozillaFirebird.exe. When
I
did, the MozillaFirebird.exe properties notebook comes up and the
program
isn't executed. I downloaded the Firebird .6.1 from here: =

                  =

http://ftp28f.newaol.com/pub/firebird/releases/0.6.1/contrib/

However, I got the same results when I downloaded from the nightly
build's
page and the build was dated August 10th.

Any suggestions?

butch
