Thought some of you would get a laugh out of this (at my expense) as
well as remember it in case you are ever in the same situation.
The processor fan on top of my cpu started making funny noises. WD40
fixed it for a few days but then the noise came back and the fan ran
slowly.
So until I could get to the tech store for a replacement, I figured I'd
keep the processor cooler by removing the case from the tower.
Everything worked fine until about 2 p.m. when the sunlight angle
through the window hit the motherboard. Hmm, direct sunlight on black
plastic, nice and toasty. The system froze solid until I moved it away
from the window.
