To find the kernel level use bldlevel, as in:
bldlevel \os2krnl
This will extract the build level signature. No all OS/2 files contain
this signature, but quite a few do.

You are licensed for everything up to the 10/21/2001 kernel at:
ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/os2/fixes/update-kernels
This kernel corrects some problems with the original FP15 kernel.
Anything never requires SWC or eCS if you want to stay legal.
