I am running OS/2 Warp 4, Fixpak 15 and eComStation v.1 of a computer equipped with a Romtec Trios
switch which makes the independent hard drives unknown to each other. In effect I have two separate
computer using the same hardware and BIOS.
During the BIOS part of the Boot process, the Adaptec driver is recognized along with the 4 devices whether
I am booting to OS/2 or to eCom.
On eCom I can get it to recognize the SCSI devices (external ZIP 100; HP -4p scanner; internal HP-9200+
CD-RW; Seagate tape drive) that are attached to an Adaptec AHA-2930U card using AIC7870.ADD/V driver.
Booting into OS/2, using the same drivers, I get the following message:
AIC7870.ADD/V
No valid Adaptec devices found. AIC7870.ADD not loaded.
I had to do a clean installation of OS/2 and reinstall the various devices. Prior to the reinstall, OS/2 recognized
the devices.
Both config.sys use DANI506.ADD and DANIATAP.FLT drivers. Other references to to the IBM counterparts
have been rem'ed out or appear after.
Any help, suggestions most appreciated.
TIA
Louis W. Pinckert, S.M.
