OK now. Thanks to all--svobi , Tom and Steve--for the suggestions. I've
implemented them all (I already had PMSEEK configured as the find
utility). The change that made it work was renaming the executable from
mozilla 1.21 (I have no idea how it came to be named so. I just ran the
installer.) to mozilla.exe.

I'd still like to know what the object in the desktop folder is--it
doesn't seem to be a shadow.
