Hello,
I'm experiencing the following problem:
When I try to run CHKSYS on D:\, after booting from floppies, I get
absolutely nowhere. I get a SYS3175 error. As a result I cannot run
CHKDSK on D:\ at all, unless I take some drastic steps.
If I try to run it from a fully booted system, I get the message that
D:\ is locked by another process (I believe its the system's knowledge
and use of the SWAPPER directory on D:\). Next, I took everything off
D:\, temporarily moved the SWAPPER to C:\ and rebooted. Then I could run
CHSDSK on D:\ on a full up system without any problems. I restored D:\
from backup and, with the SWAPPER still on C:\, successfully ran CHKDSK.
However, when I lastly tried it again from boot floppies, I again got
SYS3175 error.
I checked this out on the Internet and at least one other person
experienced the same thing. However, he did not discover a reason why or
a fix for it. I would like to know if anyone has had similar problems,
or has an answer to it.
Thanks very much for your help.
HCM
