I'm still trying to set up my network (slow work do to other things I've
got to do around the house).
I'm wondering if anyone can help me confirm or deny a recent issue that
I ran across involving NetBIOS. I know that NetBIOS is not a protocol.
And I know that it's not routable. I guess I did not fully appreciate
the meaning of that word until I read a VOICE article this morning. The
article said that not routable, means it won't go through a router. OK!
If that is so, that means that I have to use NetBIOS over TCPIP to
communicate with the 2 Windows boxes, because I bought a
router/firewall, not a hub, to be part of my LAN. Is that correct? Do I
need to set up NetBIOS over TCPIP, because of my router?
Thanks for your response.
