I looked on the eCS 1.1 CDs and didn't find the manual.  You might try the 
eCS website for a copy.  If that fails, ask Mensys.  They are your 
reseller even though Kim provided the media.

There's not enough there from what you posted.  You need to find the rest 
of the logs.  There may be some in c:\os2\install. 
I still suspect there's something about your partition setup that's 
confusing LVM and/or the installer.  The ? should be replaced with a drive 
letter and it was not.  E-mail me a copies of any phase*.cmd files you can 
find.  I can use that to point you at other places to look.
