Hi Jack
you are xcopying from C: to L: but from where are you starting this
XCOPY command ?
=46rom C: ?
or from your maintenance partition which is which drive letter ??
from floppy boot ???
or whatever !?
It seems that your files showed below are presently accessed =
and therefor not acessable !?
Let's know the exact condition(s).
Regards, svobi

Subject: SCOUG-Help: Xcopy problems found
I finally got smart enough to go to my maintenance partition and run
pmrexx scrollcmd.cmd which provides a command line and saves everything
that ran off the screen when I ran xcopy with the hotserve switches in
an
os/2 window.
xcopy beeped and hiccuped three times when copying c: to l:. I found
these statements in the record:
SYS1186: XCOPY cannot access the source file.
C:\OS2\HELP\primary_.DB
SYS1186: XCOPY cannot access the source file.
C:\OS2\HELP\_CACHE0.DB
SYS1186: XCOPY cannot access the source file.
C:\OS2\SYSTEM\RAS\LOG0001.DAT
I tried to access the three files in the scrollcmd record via an os/2
window with this result for each one:
SYS0032 The process cannot access the file because it isbeing used by
another process.
The enhanced editor and ZTBold opened all three files without any
problems.
ZTBold showed:
primary.db 16384 .a.. 7/28/03 11:53:04 pm
primary.db~ 16384 .a.. 7/29/03 12:28:10 am (note the ~)
_cache0.db 0 .a.. 7/28/03 11:53:02 pm
_cchlock.lck 0 .a.. 7/28/03 11:53:04 pm (was the next
file)
log0001.dat 40960 .a.. 7/27/03 1:55:34 pm
If someone can tell me the purpose of these files and why the enhanced
editor and ZTBold can open them but Xcopy cannot or anything else
relevant, I would sure appreciate it.
Jack
