Your explanation is fascinating, thanks. I did submit that "what if?"
comment to the alt.astronomy newsgroup and got back some
vitriolic responses including a demand to quit the group. I was
glad to see these because they gave me a chance to expand on
the points I wanted to make (That is exactly what the "what if"
proposition was intended to produce).
