OK. The error is because the DTR set if failing. The error message is
wrong. You might want to notify the gphoto developers that the code that
the code in:
libgphoto2-2.1.1\libgphoto2_port\serial\unix.c
at line 661:
if (ioctl (dev->pl->fd, request, &bit) < 0) {
gp_port_set_error (dev, _("Could not set level of pin %i to "
"%i (%m)."), pin, level);
is wrong or at best confusing. The pin # is a logical pin number on a
real pin number. Also, the %m is an invalid format specifier and is
definitely wrong.
IAC, something about your com2 mode settings is not allowing gphoto2 to
toggle DTR on.
What's command line you are using to run gphoto2?
What's the result of
mode com2
