Can I assume the CD boot will not work on the 760?

It's usually an indication that the installer is confused about the
partitioning.

Most of the good stuff in in \var\log.

The manual is a PDF file. It's probably on CD#2. So's the readme.

You need to find the logs.

Also a hint on how the drive is partitioned might help.
