Might be worth studying the logs.  ATTGlobal.net (ex-IBM.NET) always  
reported a chassis and port number.  Together with the phone number  
this sufficed uniquely to identify the access path.  Was useful a  
number of times to me in solving problems with IBM tech staff.  
 
In the OS/2 dialer you have to go in to configure it to create the log  
you want (there are many types available).
