I'm not an expert on this, but I suspect you got some sort of corruption in  
FOLDER.BAG, FOLDER.INI, or both.  I'm running a later version of PMMail, but I  
believe that if you bring up the context menu for the Inbox folder, you will  
find a "Re-Index" menu entry.  Invoking this menu option should restore your  
Inbox folder to health.  ONE WORD OF CAUTION:  You may find mail in your inbox  
that you thought you had got rid of.  I'm not sure why this happens, but it  
does, occasionally.  Hope some of this helps.
