I get this a lot because I also have some mailbox monitoring software
running (POP3SPY) on a 1-minute cycle. If you are already logged in to
the server, a second login will fail (this happens even with telnet).
Did the above happen just once, or do you see it every time? Are any of
your other machines checking the account and showing a "!" or whatever
if there are messages waiting? Are you running any utilities on any
machines like SmartBar or Pop3Spy that might be checking your mailbox?
What happens if you unplug your router and connect your OS/2 machine
directly to the DSL jack (you'll probably have to reboot to reinitialize
DHCP)?
