I have a couple spares I bought around a year ago. Not sure how long they were on
the warehouse shelf prior to that. Maybe I need to do something (preventative) with

I talked to a few people at the last Comdex about this. Whoever is taking over that
biz from IBM (Hitachi ? Fujitsu ?) should be retaining the same production lines.
Ergo, and hopefully, nothing may change other than the branding. Or perhaps they
won't be as generous with the warranty, though that would be more of a business
decision than anything else, if the production and q.c. remain the same.

Hopefully, that solution is closer to a hair dryer than the hammer (which you
mentioned over lunch). Care to enlighten ?
