I suspected that, but you should realize I prefer facts to clues.
I don't think you are going to be able to change the drive letter behavior
unless there's a switch option in Dani's driver. Even though the drive is
a removable, it appears that it's being handled as a fix drive for drive
letter assignments.
When I get time, I'm going to try to better understand exactly how this is
implemented. Of course, with LVM, the issue goes away because the drive
letter is stored on the media.
