I know that some purists don't believe in having more than one OS per
box,
but this is an example of where if you had something else -- some
version
of Windoze, Linux, etc. -- you'd have a useful cross-check. If the
alternate
OS sees the same problem, you're probably looking at a hardware issue;
if
not, it's probably drivers or setup.
