You don't have to expand wildcard. For example, to backup \mptn\etc I set
the path to \mptn\etc and the filespec to * and clicked OK. This results
in single zip command in SUPBACK.CMD which continues to work correctly as
files are added and deleted.

I guess it depends on whether you ever intend to use the builtin restore.
I don't. I run archinst.exe every couple of months to refresh the orginal
backup, but that's mostly to keep config.x in sync with config.sys. I
really don't expect to ever have to use the builtin restore.
I guess it also depends on whether or not you want unrelated configuation
files restored when you restore the Desktop. It would not be my choice.
