I know this is a Windoze problem, but I thought I would ask a sane group
of people before I try asking those from the dark side...
My main system is all SCSI (LSI 22915A dual channel). The first drive has:
Bootmanager
C: Windoze 2000
F: eCS 1.03
etc.
Windoze 2000 on C: has gotten into a state where it can't find it's ass
(kernel)with both hands, so to speak. I believe that I need to change
the BOOT.INI file in the root of C:. I can display/copy it using the
ntfs driver, but that is R/O, so I can't write the file. I have tried
booting from the Windows 2000 Pro CD and from diskettes created from
that CD. No go. If I put in the driver diskette for the 22915A, it says
that it can't find my hard drive and craps out with a Blue Screen of
Death if I don't. I think it may have something to do with the fact that
I have an SMP motherboard (Tyan Tiger MP S2460).
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get WRITE access to the drive
without actually having Windoze booted?
Thanks!
