If you have Unimaint and you could get Larry Martin interested enough to
look at the corrupted handles, he might be able to patch up the bad spot.

None that you are going to like. I guess you need to use this as a lesson
to schedule backups for the things you don't want to use. In this case,
Peter's solution of just saving multiple copies of the .INIs would have
been sufficient. The key to to find a method that provides sufficient
protection vs. labor expended.
In my case, I have Relish start Unimaint for me weekly so I don't forget.
I've heard enough horror stories that it's rare that I neglect to do a
Desktop backup after installing a major application. If the application
is heavily WPS enabled, like xworkplace, a Desktop backup before
installing is a prudent safeguard.
