This too general a question to give a specific answer. You have to check
the installation requirements for each specific Java app.

The same is true for Java applets. You just can't tell.

This sounds like the classic broken FI object problem. There's an old Mr.
KIA article that explains how to fix up your Feature Install objects.
This is usually enough to get FI running again.
