This is only true if you want to keep the old version around. There's a
Mr KIA article that discusses how to go from a VAC build to at GCC build
without quite so much work.

You can't do it in config.sys, but you can do it in a script. However,
you don't need to do this. The VAC and GCC builds can share the
MOZILLA_HOME setting. They just can't share the same profile.

Just copy the files to the new profile directory tree. You can point the
new profile at the old mail directory, but that's messy to maintain.
