Hello
since more and more computer systems do not have FD's anymore =
one has to find a solution like I am doing now:
Soon I am leaving for vacations and I would have my floppyless =
notebook ready for go ;-)
How can a USB Stick replace the floppy disk ?
1) For an OS/2 installation I am always using floppies with some =
specific drivers and CONFIG:SYS added !
1q1: Do I need 3 sticks to replace these 3 Installation Diskettes ...
=2E.. or can I put all these 3 Installation Diskettes onto ONE USB Stick ?
1q2: How do I prepare these USB Sticks for this purpose ??
1q3: Do I need to observe some special specs with these USB Sticks ???
Another idea:
2) Instead of wasting a partition for a hardly used Maintenance =
Partition I am considering an USB Stick to act as a BootOS/2 =
or a DOS Boot unit !
2q1: Is it possible to make an USB Stick bootable for i.e. with =
DOS or BootOS2 ?
2q2: How do I prepare these USB Sticks for this purpose ??
2q3: Do I need to observe some special specs with these USB Sticks ???
=
Well, either group 1 or group 2 seem somewhat similar, except that =
group 1 shall collect 3 floppies onto a new media !
The 2nd group is a one to one change between 2 different medias !!
You advices, hints and suggestions, exspecially regarding an IBM =
T30, is hot awaited ;-)
Thanks in advance, =
svobi
