Hi everbody
An external, depending on make and model, offers much more =
than neat flasing lights only !!
An external may be able to receive facsimiles while the PC is OFF =
and it may also work as an Answer Machine ;-))
My 3COM U.S.Robotics PRO Message Modem here works since =
more than 8 years without any problems and I am / was happy my =
choice !!!
With my system ON I am able to receive and send facsimiles and =
also answering machine function is working with PMfax under OS/2 ;-)
Beside ot that: There are NO more slots for any internal cards !
Having this modem as an internal version would bring a conflict ;-((
So one more time happy with my external modem solution ;-))

Internal allows for voice mail. External has neat flashing lights to
show if it's working.
