Well, this is better.

If you don't have a working ASPI driver loaded, this is exactly what I
would expect to happen. First things first.

Maybe, but who knows if it will be reliable. Auto should work with proper
cabling.

I'm a simple guy. I prefer to not create complications where there are
none.

Possibly, but Seagates are notorious for running hotter than the
competition.

Sure. Logic says a 7200RPM drive is going to run much cooler than an 15K
drive. Quieter too.

But not with a a U160 SCSI HBA.

I'm sure he used the Shuttle as it was designed to be used.
