Actually, the RSJ installation is pretty simple. The installer correctly configures your
CONFIG.SYS file, then you reboot. The only problem will be, if you have a CD unit that
RSJ does not recognize. As I said in my earlier post, RSJ tries to auto identify your unit
at bootup. If it fails, the software probably will not work. If it fails, it will tell you so at
bootup. And if that happens, simply contact the RSJ support folks and tell them what
unit you have. They will send you an update to the cddrv.inf file, which will contain the
proper info on your unit.
That's what happened to me. RSJ did not auto id my unit and RSJ did not work for me. I
contacted RSJ and they quickly provided written instructions for the fix. And it worked.
What is poorly documented is how to correctly modify your CONFIG.SYS file, if you
want to use Daniela's drivers (to provide a back door for using your read-write unit for
read only operation without opening RSJ and attaching it). I had to search the RSJ
user's group E-Mail for a posting that explained the correct mods. If you want to use the
back door, I can help you with that.
