I guess I misunderstood. I thought you meant you had something working and
that they (AIM/AOL) were just complaining that you weren't using the best and
greatest (kind of how Real pushes you to upgrade their streaming audio player).
This is already further than I've gotten so I would have been happy to get to
that point. Now, I'm starting to interpret this as AOL is trying to close off
other IM-type competition. Is this official (as in an IBM end of support type
announcement) or unofficial (like MS quietly closing off older OS support with
their new office release),

I guess this is not great but I guess it'll have to do. There's still some
problems doing this for me. ICQ2Go and Netscape will randomly quit or freeze.
Sometimes it's just one, the other or both. I'm still investigating.
