Thanks, Peter, for your suggestion. Actually, I created 2 files several weeks ago, using
IPTRACE and IPFORMAT and showing the slow and quick response from PMMail on
my system. Attached please find the following 2 files:
PMMailTest1.TXT
PMMailTest2.TXT
The first one, PMMailTest1.TXT, is the IP trace during the slow/delayed response. The
second one is the IP trace during the immediate response. I substituted "xxxx..." for my
password on each one.
I would be most pleased, if Steven has a program and can analyze them.
A vvvvvery quick look from me appears to indicate that the problem has to do with
NETBIOS. In the first file there appear to be a lot of calls to/from the NETBIOS
NameServer (same destination and source, port 137). The 2 files appear to be pretty
much identical until packet #14. After that there are continued calls to/from the
NETBIOS NameServer in the first file. The second file starts to process the requests
from PMMail on or about packet #14.
Any and all help on this one is muchly appreciated. Thanks
HCM
