Steven et. al:
OK! So far, so good. I reestablished my TCPIP 4.1 stack (MPTS) and I reinstalled the
Injoy Firewall. I configured Injoy to block all outgoing and incoming Netbios traffic. My
network response is now instantaneous and so far no stumbles.
I starting to believe that all that bogus Netbios port 137 traffic was the problem. Injoy
documentation specifically mention the port 137 problem and that this traffic can choke
your Internet performance. I also did an Internet search on Netbios and port 137.
Search results also indicate that this traffic is becoming a problem.
I'll keep monitoring/testing my system to make sure that I continue to have good
connections and throughput. But I really believe that was the problem.
