What was it ?  I've been seriously considering trying to use the UniMaint Portable Backup  
feature to apply all the installed stuff, the customizations, and desktop layout from my  
longstanding Warp 4 partition onto a new eCS partition, but I'm thinking the disaster  
potential is definitely there.  (Have any of you reading this ever tried that ?)  It may be a  
great way to encounter the sort of corruption you describe, or worse.

Then at least you have determined that _other_ standard UniMaint functions still work
