Not really.  The atip command reads a specific part of the CD content, but  
that does not say much about if the writing process will be successful.  
 
IMO, the way to avoid coasters is to understand the process well enough so  
that when it fails, one knows where to look first.  RSJ makes the process  
easy, but hides so much detail that it's often hard to know where to look  
first.  
 
I've helped several folks get their RSJ setups working by using cdrecord  
to determine what's broken so it can be fixed.
