It's definitely a good idea to turn off the wired interfaces when testing  
dialup.  It reduces the possible conflicts.  
 
You get to pick which of your problems we work on first. :-)  
 
FWIW, there's no reason you can't run wired and dialup interfaces at the  
same time.  I do it regularly.  However, when one interface is not  
working, troubleshooting is usually easier if the other interfaces are not  
active and chattering.
