Jack,

Yes, spyware and adware are the new and insidious things that can infect computers.
There is even such a thing as "drive-by" spyware. That is, when you visit a website,
that action alone could result in spyware secretly installed on your machine. There are
several good articles on spyware/adware on PC Magazine and PC World
(http://www.pcmag.com and http://www.pcworld.com). Just go to those websites and
put "spyware" in their search functions to bring up those articles. They will also tell you
how to rid your machine of these things.

Two items you should consider:
1. Common opinion is that spyware and adware cannot infect and
function on OS/2 or ECS machines, because the code for these bugs is almost always
Windows, Mac or Linux. Therefore, you may indeed have spyware/adware
somewhere on your OS/2 or ECS machine, but it is inoperative!

2. I would NEVER download any software from anyone, unless you know
that they are reputable. This group, Enigma Software Group, who are they? Can you
trust them? Maybe they are among the bad guys. My rule of thumb is to install website
software (on my Windows machines) only if it is recommended and/or tested by PC
Magazine or PC World.

BOTTOMLINE: If you have a Windows machine, you should worry about
spyware/adware. And if so, read and use PC Magazine and PC World.
