First, I didn't say Win preload. I was referring to user installed.

And, I was not referring to all OS/2. I have installed version 2, 3, 4
and Wseb. I have had problems with a W4 system and just reinstalled it
rather than mess with it. Also my needs change and I sometimes
reinstall just to get it fresh and different. My point is that W4 is no
problem. eCs is something I take off the shelf once in a while to see
if I can get it to install on something.

Above you indicate that the problem is lack of support from IBM. I have
put W4 on socket 7, P1 and P3, and Wseb on a socket 7. I am currently
trying to put eCs on a P3 that was running W4.

The installation interface for eCs looks only vaguely like W4 or Wseb.
eCs uses the CD, two FD and the HDD during phase 1, but can't find one
or more of them for phase 2, and you say it's IBM's fault. Apparently
something they did to OS/2 between W4 and whatever eCs is made out of,
and the eCs layer has nothing to do with it?

I just put W4 on it. Again, no problem.

Ray
