I have xfree86 running fine, and gimp/2 running as well, but I cannot make
Gimp load the plugins for jpegs, and a handful of other formats. Kind of
useless to me without jpeg.....
I have v1.19 and 1.22 installed and they both kick back messages that they
are unable to load the plugins for jpeg, png, tiff, mpeg, and a couple of
others.
After endless searches on the net, I have found bits and pieces of info,
but nothing that really addresses this issue. The yahoo gimpos2 group is
dead, and only occasionally a post from someone who wishes to enlarge my
anatomy :-)
Been to Christofs page, Birdy, OS2world, and I think most every other one.
It seems to be abandoned, and no one in any of the os2 groups even
replies, but I am obsessed, as I like Gimp, don't wish to run Windows and
photoshop, and I am not ready to open Linux just to run one app.
Anyone have a pointer, an idea, a url, an email address, a clue, or
anything that I can use to figure out what is going on. I recall a web
site that briefly touched on the fact that these plugins don't work,
unless I have dlls from an older version of gimp. I have 1.02, or can get
it, but no clue as to what is needed, and where the files need to be
located in xrfree86.
I have even attempted to make everblue and gimp run, but they need some
more time to get it to where it is able to run properly, and it only
supports gimp v1.02.
Much obliged for any assistance or ideas.
Best Regards,
John
