Not odd at all. This seems to be normal for large (and maybe small) ISPs. It
seems that they take down a mail server, start a backup server, and then do
maintenance on the normal server. Since the normal server has not delivered
the email you will not be able to get your email (from that server) until it is
back online. I have had email "lost" for up to a week before they put the
server back online or they copied the email to the current servers directory.
