They do support some Intel chipsets, which leads me to suppose they  
won't be ignoring the later ones.  OTOH, I notice that their roster of  
supported chipsets for laptops is *way* shorter than for desktop

Aieeeee !   That's sort of become an ingrained habit, for us OS/2  
users over the years, hasn't it (?):  Verify the h/w support before we  
leap . . . .

There's always email, but I prefer a more direct contact that makes it  
harder for them to not respond.  They have an office in Chino, which  
is more or less local for us in SoCal, and I have called them a couple  
times in the past to make inquiries.  No reason you couldn't do the  
same, and lobby your case in a polite manner.  The thing is -- even in  
a best case scenario -- do you really want to wait 6 months for  
chipset support, if they should add it to their project list ?
