I know they can be had for almost free. I didn't know which you had.
FWIW, I doubt you will be able to use the 3c589 patch with the elcp3x
driver. The code locations are different.

I recommend you do your nic testing with a straight 3c589 and the patched
elpc3.os2 driver. The patched driver is known not to trap on fast CPUs
althougt it of course can trap for other reasons.
