BIOS ITET55W (latest version available) Quick Boot is disabled in BIOS

INSTALL ECS 1.1 ON VIRGIN HDD 12 GB P/N 05K9223 FRU P/N05K9229

- Boot eCS 1.1 CD#1 install IBM BM, goes to first 7 mb
Select Free space, select create volume, compatibility volume,
select bootable, select primary OK [C -- for Win98SE]
Select Free space, select create volume, compatibility volume,
select bootable, select primary OK [None -- for DOS WfWG]
Select Free space, select create volume, compatibility volume,
OK [D]
Select Free space, select create volume, compatibility volume,
OK [E]
Select Free space, select create volume, compatibility volume,
OK [F]
Select Free space, select create volume, compatibility volume,
OK [G]
Select Free space, select create volume, select bootable OK [H]
Select Free space, select create volume, OK [I]
Select Free space, select create volume, OK [J]

fails with error message outside 1024-cylinder limit

NOTE THIS HDD HAS NEVER BEEN TOUCHED BY PARTITION MAGIC, ONLY LVM

- Destroy all partitions except BM, recreate all with following sizes:

- Run MiniLVM, H appears as bootable in list, select add to boot menu,
fails with error message outside 1024-cylinder limit

- Delete IBM BM, reinstall,

- Run MiniLVM, H appears as bootable in list, select add to boot menu,
accepted. GOTCHA -- MUST FIRST DELETE BM AND REINSTALL

Conclusions: IBM TP with latest BIOS will not install eCS 1.1 above
1024-cylinder on a virgin HDD touched only by LVM.
