That does seem like a lot of work, doesn't it?

Do it just like you would with BM. Mark the DOS volume visible. Mark it
startable. Boot your DOS diskettes. Install DOS.

After you install DOS, run LVM and mark BM startable.

This is all on the BM menus.

FWIW, just because LVM adds volumes does not mean the way partitions work
change in any way for OSs that don't understand volumes. Common sense
says it can not or the other OSs would not be able to boot.
