>> It gets even more scary when you consider all children must be issued a ss# at birth. That number will follow them thru their school years.....what an open source of information for the asking!

The issuing of a social security number at birth is absolutely voluntary.
There is no law that requires a person to even have a SS#. In support of
that statement, are the laws in place that prohibit employers and banks
from discriminating against those who do not have a SS#.

Social Security deductions at work are not mandatory either. Its curious
how we are all force fed such false information, and find ourselves just
stepping in line without really questioning what its all about. Took me
too many years to learn the facts, but if I was stupid enough to have more
children :) I would not get them a SS#. They can decide that for
themselves when they are old enough and have taken the time to learn the
law, not the preconcieved notions we all live with. I am sure that lack of
a number can be a challenge, but it is not something everyone is ordered
to have.

If you believe it to be a requirement, and that deductions are mandatory,
ask your Congresscritter how much he/she pays into SS each year.

Way OT tho..... :-)

John
