Jeffrey,

I'm very sorry for all the problems you are having with ECS 1.1. I hope you can get them resolved quickly. Thanks for your input.

Well I am still trying to get it to work after two weeks on a TP; still not
functional

1-Couldn't install above 1024 cylinder boundary despite the BIOS allowing
this. STATUS: Roderick Klein is reviewing install routine.

2-Error message during last phase of install: "SYS0003 can't find path
specified"; Alex Taylor will study my ECSINST.LOG file; I will send
to him today.

3-Can't use 3Com 3C562D NIC+Modem -- driver problem (Steve Levine has
ideas)

4-After installed successfully (?) first time I closed the TP cover and
reopened, when unit recovered from suspend the install was destroyed
because the Trackpoint becomes unresponsive. Cannot get it working.

5-XCOPY from one HDD to second in drive tray fails with error message
no available memory

6-From command prompt, TYPE gives TRAP A on second invocation.

7-will not power off after SHUTDOWN from command prompt

There may be more problems. However the install is basically non-
functional and has consumed about 50 hours already with no end in
sight.

Many persons have been very helpful, thanks to all of you.

I am about to get on a plane to the US now. Watch the news.
