Thanks, Steven. I did find a Netware forum shortly after I posted here, but
so far no one has posted any replies to my query. It might be easisest just
to direct you to that site to read the problem summary:

 http://www.computing.net/netware/wwwboard/forum/4988.html

I have more information I can supply, like the exact Netware console
messages, the Netware procedure for applying the 3.2 enhancement CD, the DOS
config.sys, and autoexec.bat if you want to look at those.

I just have a feeling that I'm doing something very dumb and someone will
say "Oh, yeah, it doesn't work quite THAT way, you have to do such & such".
I am troubled by the fact that DOS can access the cdrom initially, but then
cannot access the cdrom once Netware has been brought up and back down,
without a reboot of DOS. Also, I didn't mention in the post, but Netware is
able to "CD DIR" the root directory of the (unmounted) cdrom (after doing a
"LOAD CDROM" and "CD DEVICE LIST"; but it then cannot load the 3.2
PINSTALL.NLM from it, nor can it "CD MOUNT" the cdrom.

I know there is an alternate way of applying 3.2 via a client machine, but
I'd like for the server be able to use the server-attached cdrom.

Thanks,
Wayne
