No, it's not really plasible because it is LVM that is limiting you.   
While defects are always possible given the imprecise nature of the  
partitioning rules used by various OSs,  the installer is only reporting  
back what LVM is telling it.  
 
When see more data, I'll be able to provide some guidance.
